Tennessee Traffic Safety Resource Service

The Tennessee Traffic Safety Resource Service of the University of Tennessee Transportation Center provides training and research services to enhance traffic safety in areas such as safety belt and child restraint promotion, anti-drunk driving programs, cycling and pedestrian safety, and vehicle safety technology. The Traffic Safety Resource Service serves as a clearinghouse of current information, statistics, and research in traffic safety.

The Traffic Safety Resource Service publishes a quarterly newsletter, the Tennessee Traffic Safety Reporter, to provide information about traffic safety projects, studies, surveys, and technology to over 7000 safety advocates. It is involved in the promotion of national safety education and enforcement campaigns such as Child Passenger Safety Awareness Week, Buckle Up America Week, Campaign Safe and Sober, and National Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month. An extensive audiovisual loaner library and a variety of educational traffic safety brochures are available for use in community, school, and workplace safety programs.

The Tennessee Traffic Safety Resource Service is sponsored by the Tennessee Governor's Highway Safety Program and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. For more information, contact the Traffic Safety Resource Service at (423) 974-5255 or 1-800-99BELTS (Tennessee only).
